KONEKESKO LTD is a multi-sector machinery trading company
     
    Konekesko Ltd is a service company specialising in the import, marketing and related services of recreational, construction, environmental and agricultural machinery, and trucks and buses. In 2007, Konekesko's net sales totalled €229.3 million, up by 14.3% over the previous year. Net sales from export operations were €35.8 million and accounted for 15.6% of the total net sales. Konekesko has circa 700 employees, a bit less than half is located in Finland.
     
    Konekesko, which is part of the Kesko Group, started as an independent company in 2001. Konekesko is one of the largest technical trading companies in Finland. Konekesko also markets Yamarin boats to several European countries, including Russia, and construction, forest and environmental machinery in the Baltic countries and Russia. In Baltics Konekesko also has agricultural business.
     
    Konekesko focuses on the leading brands in the sector, bearing overall responsibility for their marketing and sales throughout the area. Konekesko also offers extensive after-sales services to its customers either through its own or a contract service network.
     
    Konekesko's strengths include its comprehensive, first-class products and services, efficient operating methods, a wide and skilled network, and competent and service-oriented staff. The goal is to reach a sales growth exceeding that of the market in selected business areas.

    Recreational machinery
     
    Konekesko's sales of recreational machinery are based on over 40 years of close mutual cooperation with Yamaha Motor Co. Quality-conscious consumers are served by the nationwide Yamaha dealer network currently comprising about 150 outlets.
     
    The product selection includes Yamaha motor vehicles and outboard motors, Rönnqvist, Grandezza, Finnmaster and Suvi boats, and boating equipment. In addition, Konekesko Marine develops, arranges the manufacture of, sells and markets its Yamarin boat range in the Nordic and other European markets, including Russia. Yamarin has been trademarked to Konekesko since 1972. Now days Yamarin is the best-selling fibreglass outboard boat in Finland, where Yamaha outboard motors have been the market leader since 1977.
     
     
    Construction and environmental machinery
     
    Construction and environmental machinery account for around one quarter of Konekesko's net sales. Konekesko has long traditions in this sector, as Kesko started selling these products as early as 1950s.
     
    In Finland, Konekesko imports and markets construction and environmental machinery to contractors, the manufacturing industry, towns and municipalities, and other demanding professional users. After-sales services are handled by Konekesko's own organisation as well as the extensive, competent contract service network. Konekesko has nine sales outlets in Finland. Konekesko has repair shops in Vantaa,Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Kouvola, Seinäjoki, Jyväskylä and Kuopio and a total of 40 contract service companies.
     
    In Finland, Konekesko represents New Holland and Case construction machinery, mini excavators, mowers, tractors, Grove and Kobelco cranes, Manitou tele handlers and AWPs, Unic mini cranes as well as NPK attachments and Allison transmissions and Kubota motors. In 2008, the market share in the Finnish construction machinery trade was about 13% and in the environmental machinery trade about 18%.
     
    Agricultural machinery
     
    The Agricultural Machinery Unit was transferred from Kesko Agro to Konekesko on 1 January 2009.
     
    The best-known brands represented by the Unit in Finland include Massey Ferguson tractors, Claas combines and Grimme potato harvestes. In Baltics the Unit represents also Claas tractors and a variety of leading agricultural implements (Claas, Lemken, Hardi among others). In Finland market share in Massey Ferguson tractors is 15 % being the 3rd biggest in the market and in Claas combines ca 30 %, 2nd in the market.
     
    Sales network in Finland consists of 30 professional tractor and combine salesmen located in local K-Agriculture premises. Salesmen work in co-operation with K-Agriculture network, to reach agricultural customers effectively. Konekesko is handling the whole business including the second-hand business.
     
    After-sales services of the products are handled by eight Konekesko's workshops and by 120 subcontractor's service network. Spare parts network consist of eight Konekesko's spare parts stores co-operating shop in shop with K-Agriculture and 25 K-Agriculture owned spare parts store.
     
    MAN trucks and buses
     
    Konekesko imports MAN trucks and buses and Neoplan buses into Finland. The business started in 1994. The vehicles are sold throughout the country by Konekesko's own sales organisation, which currently consists of nine outlets. The MAN Unit employs a total of 60 professionals. MAN Truck & Bus Center in Finland was opened in Juvanmalmi, Espoo in summer 2004, and the second one in Pirkkala in December 2008. Konekesko now has 20 MAN service centres.
     
    Konekesko also represents VW commercial vehicles in the MAN Center in Espoo. The commercial vehicle business was started in summer 2007.
     
    In the weight class of trucks of over 6 tons, MAN's market share in Finland was 8.9% in 2008. MAN has the strongest relative market position in Finland in delivery vehicles of 6-12 tons. In buses (over 9 tons), the market share was 2,7% in 2008. The MAN range of buses includes city and short-haul buses. MAN holds a significant share in the business of natural gas buses, in which sector future prospects are considered particularly favourable.
